"Delith" Ring Logographic by WurdBendur "Delith" Ring Logographic by WurdBendur
This is the same as my other Delith Ring [link] with the same text, but written with logographs rather than spelled with an alphabet. The language is the one I constructed for the fantasy world called Grun. This writing style is typical of Lower Geldor, where the language originated.

If you're worried that this looks a whole lot like Chinese, worry no more: The appearance and the usage of the characters is intentionally similar to Chinese, but there are significant differences in radicals (parts that make up characters) and phonology.

I made this because I wanted to make myself a ring, and I'm trying to decide what to put on it. Of course, I still have no idea, I don't have the materials or the experience to make a ring, and I have no idea where I could go to get an engraving like that done.

Edit: These symbols read, in Lower Geldorian, as "Delith nerektos keto doth ml so mili", which is my translation of "Reflections of fear cast shadows of nothing." This is a line from the Naruto ending song "Wind".

Beautiful piece. Well done with Photoshop, at first I did think it was a finished work of silver. Good luck getting a final actual ring made sometime, should look great when you do. :)

I love this! Could I see the alphabet?

It's not actually an alphabet. The writing there is logographic, so there are a huge number of characters that I don't have online anywhere.
The other version of the ring, however, is alphabetic.

The alphabet is the one in this font, and I have a chart here (note that some letters have alternate forms).

They're very much like Chinese characters, so I don't doubt it!

I like this a lot. I love how it really ties in with Chinese, though it somehow looks more similar to Hangul, while not really being either.

Simple, elegant, yet realistic. I'd like to see this applied to some conlang.

The logographic version is much prettier than the alphabetic.

The ring is just a photograph, but this inspires me. I should try doing a ring from scratch.

GAH! I tried to read it in Japanese. And I'm the other part of grun too! I need to do some art for it.

My school doesn't offer classes like that...
(I attend River Hill High School)
Other wise, I would have gladly taken Japanese...

Not if it looks like that. ^^
I don't read it very well, but pon is taking classes on it, so he reads it better than I do.

Haha! Got you! I've come up with another style that looks less like kanji and makes mixing it with sftos more seemless, so I'll have do try that on another ring. Then maybe it won't confuse you so much.
And yes, you deserve credit for creating much of Grun. *whips* Now get to work, minion! Err... yeah.

Sorry, I only put it on the other ring. I'll add the translation here, too.
